This is a personal blog. I know. Awful, isn’t it? It’s mostly about mothering two small kids as someone who’s a feminist, queer and environmental activist.

I LOVE your blog. I will be bookmarking it and passing it on to my Yahoo group of lesbian moms – they will LOVE it!
Where I live I am the only lesbian Lactation Consultant – which is lonely. I also don’t know many other lesbian couples with kids my kids ages…the ones I know are typically my clients and they, of course, have babies. I Love working with them…the dynamics between two women and their children is different from the straight world. I lived in the straight world for 34 yrs…so I know a thing or two about it. 🙂
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for your contribution…your thoughts…your insights. They are wonderful!
Warmly,
Jaye
Hi Kate,
I am really enjoying your blog!
I was wondering if I could have your permission to give copies of your piece on Breastfeeding: Radical, Feminist and Good for You to my Women’s Studies students. I don’t think they’ll necessarily hear this in their other classes, and it’s important!
TIA, and kudos
Jo-Anne
Hi Kate,
I found your blog and was wondering whether you were involved in already, or if not, would be interested in campaigning towards stricter regulations of the marketing of infant formula. I feel very strongly that if the companies weren’t allowed to present the formula tubs with long ‘nutrient’ claims and misleading information, then many more women would realise that formula is a vastly inferior baby food compared to breastmilk – I actually think something along the lines of stickers (like those on cigarette packs) stating clearly that breastmilk is best would be appropriate.
If you’re at all interested in campaigning on this, I’d be delighted if you got in touch!
Love your blog, by the way – great title too 🙂
Lorna.
